DCeased Motherbox Zombies: Wonder Woman

When DCeased was announced a lot of returning fans were a little disappointed to learn there would be no playable Zombie mode to match with Marvel Zombies. Now of course there are a number of reasons for this; they’ve been explained elsewhere if you’re interested. As for myself, I say there’s always reasons not to do something. I think a bunch of us want to do it anyway. So this is my effort, over the coming months, before the Kickstarter ships out I will have posted playable rules for every Zombie Hero. You can mix them with your Marvel Zombies, custom up some rules to run them in DCeased missions, or just laugh at how bad my ideas are. Lots of people have some cool ideas for how to make these characters. These are just mine.

My customs are designed to feel balanced next to existing designs. They are designed with simplicity in mind; simplicity is what makes Zombicide so fun. I also design my customs to match the sculpt of the model and the version and powers that are presented there. In designing custom playable Zombie Heroes I have developed the term “Militia” as a shorthand to mean Trooper, Guard or Specialist. All cards were made using Wuxyteo’s card creator, which is pretty great.

And we’re back at it coming in hot with one of the scariest Zombie Tanks, Wonder Woman! Given that Diana is one of the big 3 DC heroes I was okay with turning up the complexity on her so she feels right when you’re playing her. This is mostly reflected in her Blue Skill, Broken Aegis and Frayed Lasso. Wonder Woman can still rely on her traditional Amazon artifacts even in her undead state. Firstly the Lasso of Truth has just one truth it wants to hear from you now; “I’m gonna die!” as Diana can use it every round to reel a guy into melee combat with her, which is not a place the average goon wants to be. Note that this ability ignores target priority, and can be used to snag Bystanders or even friends and pull them into her base. If you do pull in a friend you only get to make the free attack if there is actually an Enemy in your Zone however. You can even make a Devour attack if your Hunger is getting his, although because this is an action she can not use it when she is Ravenous. Finally even in her undead state her enchanted bracelets can deflect enemy attacks, allowing her to freely ignore a Wound every Enemy Phase.

At Orange she makes a super leap up to three Zones avoiding enemies and crushing a goon wherever she lands. Combined her her Lasso this gives her a lot of range and target selection that helps keep her in the thick of the action where she belongs. Finally at Red she becomes nearly invincible, able to ignore all wounds from Troopers and Guards as she rampages all but unimpeded across the killing fields.
