Zombicide: White Death Review – Surprisingly Great!

Hey all — wanted to share a quick thought after actually sitting down and playing the White Death core box on its own.

I backed the full KS and like a lot of people, got buried under stretch goals and expansions. Honestly, I kept putting off playing because I couldn’t decide what to start with. So I finally just said screw it and played the core box as-is.

And you know what? It’s good.
Like… surprisingly good.

The survivor lineup is solid, the starting gear makes for quick ramp-ups, and the Defiler Necromancer adds this pressure that feels really fresh. The game moves faster than I expected and feels more focused.

Still has some classic Zombicide jank, but it’s still a blast.

I made a video review that walks through what I liked (and didn’t), in case that’s helpful for anyone else trying to figure out where to start:

Also curious — anyone here building custom scenarios using just the core box? Would love to see how people are working with the base content before layering on the chaos. 😅
